New album title revealed: 4.13 Dream

So, it’s finally there and it’s finally official. After all the rumors we’ve heard about the album being titled 4.13, 13, Thirteen, or Dream 13, the band finally settle it down to 4.13 Dream.

Here’s Robert fresh-new post:

8/21/2008 4:20:13 PM – by CURE:ROBERT

THE NEW ALBUM IS CALLED 4.13 DREAM

AND IT WILL BE RELEASED ON OCTOBER 13TH… WE THINK!

Personally I always fancied 4.13 (just with the numbers). For some reason, the word Dream next to it doesn’t do it for me, even thought it’s a word that I love and that I, in some ways, associate with The Cure.

Otherwise, release on the 13th of October? That sounds good.

Still, the most important info I am waiting for is: how many songs the album will have? This is the bit of information that really counts for me, and that will set my general mood for the record. Yeah, I would get too frustrated if they’d release 13 songs (or even 17, as Robert teased), when a lot more were recorded. I need them all. I know, but I just can’t help it, I am just too greedy when it comes to Cure music. I guess I should fight this sickness… don’t know, find a cure?

I think 4.13 sounds alright too. Dream sounds a little too ‘boy band’ for me in the title of an album. I wish they would call it after one of the songs on the album, like they used to. And apparently it’s not going to be released on the 13th anymore. I can’t wait to see if the album versions of the singles are different or if MIX 13 meant anything at all??
